Zamora Cuisine:
Meat is very important to Zamora's cuisine. Roast baby goat and roast suckling pig are very popular dishes. Veal from Aliste, Sayago and Sanabria enjoys deserving fame thanks to the quality of the bovine breed and to the environmentally-sound breeding system they have implemented.
About the Area
The city of Zamora in Castella, preserves in its old town an important legacy of Romanesque art, which has earned it the status of an Historic-Artistic site.
Set on the banks of the River Duero and right on the Via de la Plata (Silver Road) route, its medieval importance has left a decided impact in the shape of walls, palaces and churches. To get to know the history and art of the province better, the best thing to do is to explore one of the towns on the Duero Route or the Via de la Plata.

Attractions
Museo de Semana Santa - Pl. Santa Maria la Nueva - Sculpted floats from the turn of the 20th Century stand under guard by hooded mannequins. Rather bizarre, but definitely worth a visit.
Museo de la Catedral - One of the prized possessions of the museum is the 15th Century Black Tapestry that depicts the story of the Trojan War.
Cathedral - This Romanesque building dates to 1135. The Byzantine dome was added in later years. Fernando Gallegoâ´s "Christ in Glory" is also on display here.
