Alicante Regional Cuisine:
Alicante regional cuisine is as varied as that of most Spanish regions, but it is a rice-growing land, and its paellas and other forms of rice are its most representative dishes. The best known of all is the paella mixta, rice cooked with both seafood and chicken or rabbit, scented and coloured with saffron. In terms of wine, Valencia has three denominaciones de origen - Alicante, Utiel-Requena in the west of the province of Valencia, and Valencia, a scattered and varied area.
Alicante Region:
The cities of Valencia and Alicante are the region's biggest draws, but it has countless attractive towns and villages. The Roman remains of Sagunto are worth going out of your way to see, as is the town of Elche with it's world famous palm gardens. Alicante has many different facets to offers it's guests.
Terra Mitica
The theme park Terra Mitica, situated in the town of Benidorm in Alicante, offers the visitor a magical trip through the cultures of the Mediterranean. The park is divided into five areas, inspired by the five civilisations of the Mediterranean: Egypt, Greece, Rome, Iberia and the Islands. A stroll through the port of Alexandria in the era of Cleopatra or a visit to the Olympic Games are some of the options that the different thematic areas offer, finding spectacular attractions like "The Rescue of Ulysses"or the gigantic rollercoaster "Magnus Colossus" along the way. Within the park there is a rich selection of cafeterias, bars and restaurants with a great diversity of cuisines.
Terra Natura

Mundomar
Mundomar, on the northern outskirts of Benidorm is only thirty minutes by car from Moraira and forty-five minutes from Javea. The Mundomar Marine and Exotic Animal Park has many excellent attractions including one of the best dolphinariums in Europe. Mundomar makes a great day out for the whole family.
Castell de Santa Barbara
The impressive castle that towers over Alicante was originally built by the Carthaginians in 400BC and later used by the Romans and Moors. The fortress is massive, encompassing moats, drawbridges, tunnels, cisterns and dungeons, not to mention a stately tower and keep. From the top of the castle there is a wonderful view of the bay and city. The castle can be accessed in an elevator from the Explanada d'Espanya.
